Harley Farms has been on my “bay area must dos” list (remember, I love lists) for quite some time now.  With my mother in town for the week, I thought this would be the perfect time to make a trip down to Pescadero and spend a day at the goat farm.

We took the two-hour tour that included a history of the farm, up-close and personal moments with the goats in the pastures, a walk-through of the feeding and milking areas, cheese-making highlights in the dairy, and of course a taste test!  It was a lot of fun and we ended up with much more cheese than I had planned on buying.

My Recommendations

Tour: Wear closed-toed shoes and watch where you step.  You’re going to step in goat poop regardless, but if you’re not careful you might get pooped on.  If you see a goat start to squat, move quickly.

Cheese: Chevre with cranberry and walnuts.  To. Die. For.
